About Me

Nikita is a very passionate hunter and outdoors woman. She enjoys being outdoors with her husband, Kyle and their two kids. Together they enjoy hunting, hiking, backpacking, fishing, shed hunting, and camping. Nikita is a proud member of the Wild Sheep Foundation, BC Wildlife Federation, 2% for Conservation and a director for the BC Chapter of the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Association.

Nikita was raised in the country with horses, chickens, dogs, cats and geese and was raised on wild game. Although her parents weren't hunters, her grandparents and uncles were. Her earliest memories of hunting were with her Nana hunting for whitetail and helping her grandpa dress their elk. She was raised fishing with her dad as well. She basically grew up in a boat, on the ice and on the back of a horse. She started hunting with Kyle back in 2005 and had a successful first year taking a nice 4x4 basket buck. Now that they have two kids of their own, they are raising them to love the outdoors.

Nikita competed in the Extreme Huntress competition (2014) for the 2015 title of Extreme Huntress. It was the first year they opened it to international huntresses and it was a tough competition. They eventually worked their way down to a top 6 that would go to Hondo Texas and compete on the 777 Ranch. After 7 days of hunting, skills competitions and very little sleep in the mid July Texas heat she came in a close second.

" It was an amazing experience for me and really helped show me what I am capable of. It definitely helped me grow as a hunter and person."

In January 2015, the top 6 ladies were invited to Dallas Texas for the Dallas Safari Club convention where they had to do a public event and attend a banquet where they found out who the winner for 2015 would be.

Nikita enjoys any time that is spent outside and in the bush. She hunts with a rifle and a bow. Backpack trips are what she truly enjoys particularly with her husband, so when a rare opportunity comes for them to have a date night- thats most likely where they are, sleeping on a mountain in a little tent. Her favourite place to be is in the high country up in the alpine. She finds a beauty and peace in the remoteness.

Nikita enjoys any hunting opportunites that come. She loves the Kootenays in which she resides and the abundance of wildlife that live in the area, as well as the beautiful mountains and views. She has hunted in Texas, Spain and Saskatchewan as well. She has hunted many different animals that include whitetail, mule deer, elk, black bear, mountain goat, turkey, small game, hogs, coyotes, cougar, wolf, Ibex, Fallow deer, Stag, aoudad, hawaiian black sheep and a hybrid. She has had success with Black bear, Elk, small game, Hawaiian black sheep, aoudad, mountain goat, Red Stag, Beciete Ibex and whitetail. And has had successes with her rifle and bow.

Nikita is proud to be working with the amazing ladies of Prois Hunting Apparel as a staff member and as their British Columbia Coordinator.

She is also on the Burris Optics Ambassador team.

Ultimately, Nikita is working on being a positive role model and ambassador for women and youth in the outdoors. She tries to stay personable and open to answering anyone's questions or comments, or to those that just like to talk about the outdoors.
